The third annual "Kaitlyn's Wish - Making Wishes Come True" fundraiser was held in White Plains Saturday night, benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Jessica and Jason Anthony's daughter Kaitlyn was diagnosed in 2007 with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects connective tissue. Though she did not make it to see her 5th birthday, Kaitlyn had her wish of meeting the Disney princesses granted by the Hudson Valley chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Kaitlyn's parents have since been paying it forward, raising money for other children to have their wishes granted. According to the Kaitlyn's Wish website, there are over 160 children waiting to have their wishes granted. The average cost of each is between $7,500 and $10,000.
To date, the family has raised about $190,000, fulfilling more than two dozen wishes for Hudson Valley children.
Saturday's event was held at The Coliseum in White Plains, and featured an auction, food and dancing.
