Jury deliberations began in the historic torture killing trial that's underway at Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains.
It was a jury of 12 people who deliberated the case against Kenya Tilford all day on Wednesday.
Tilford is from New Rochelle and is accused of torturing her girlfriend Concetta Morton for months, then killing her.
A medical examiner later determined that Morton's death in 2023 was caused by asphyxiation.
The defense used the delayed timeline to support their case.
Prosecutors also accuse Tilford of concealing Morton's body in a storage bin at her apartment.
They said she was captured on video buying items, like bleach and gloves, to cover up the murder.
She's also accused of sexually abusing two other people.
The jury asked for a read back of a testimony and for some photos and texts to be reproduced on Wednesday, as well.
Tilford pleaded not guilty to all of the charges she's facing.
If convicted of first-degree murder, she faces 20 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
This is the first time that this District Attorney's Office is prosecuting a torture murder charge.
Deliberations will continue on Thursday.
