The second day of deliberations in the murder trial of actor Lillo Brancato Jr. got under way Thursday.
The family of slain NYPD Officer Daniel Enchautegui was given a round of applause as they arrived at the Bronx County Hall of Justice to see if a jury was near reaching a decision.
Prosecutors argued during the trial that Brancato, who faces a second-degree murder charge, was complicit in the murder of Enchautegui during a botched robbery that the off-duty officer was investigating.
Brancato's defense team countered that their client was not armed during the burglary and was unaware Steven Armento, the co-defendant who shot and killed Enchautegui, was carrying a weapon.
Armento was convicted of first-degree murder on Oct. 30 and later sentenced to life in prison without parole.
