The roller coaster ride around who will manage Rye Playland is over.

The County Board of Legislators voted 13 to 4 in favor of an amended deal with Standard Amusements, a private company that will begin managing the park next year. 

This comes after a long legal battle between the county and Standard Amusements over the original contract signed with former County Executive Rob Astorino.

County Executive Latimer says this new contract makes it clearer what roles the county and Standard Amusements will have.

It also says Standard Amusements must invest $27 million in physical improvements.

"The estimates of what the - the amounts of money needed to make this deal work....at the beginning, in my judgement, was not realistic. They are now realistic in this deal," says Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

The county will turn the keys over to them at the end of the year.
