A missing 15-year-old boy with autism who was last seen in Mount Vernon is now in police custody.
The Mount Vernon Mayor's Office says Jonathon Bryant was arrested Monday night by New York City police after he allegedly tried to steal an item from a Harlem Target store. The boy told officials that he has been sleeping in parks at night and panhandled money for food over the last week.
Anyone with information on the teen's whereabouts since his disappearance is asked to call the Mount Vernon Police Department.
