Leaders in Rockland's Jewish community are condemning a YouTube video that claims anti-Semitism in the county is reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
Rabbi Craig Scheff, the leader of the Orangetown Jewish Center, spoke to News 12 about the video "The Jew in Rockland." He says he was disturbed by some of the imagery and connections that were drawn.
The five-minute video was produced by Benny Polatseck of Colossal PR on behalf of the Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council.
Yossi Gestetner, of the OJPAC, defended the video, saying that there is too much unchecked hate. He refers to posts on Facebook that state the Hasidic community has poor hygiene and doesn't pay taxes.
Rabbi Schef agreed the posts are hateful bias, but says the video's use of Holocaust imagery is alarmist and inappropriate. He believes it only serves to further divide the Ramapo community, including the school district.
