A family was honored for overcoming the odds at a Somerset County golf course over three generations.

The chances of making a hole-in-one in golf are 125,000 to one. The McGuire family beat the odds at the Spooky Brook Golf Course in Franklin three times over 45 years.

Chuck McGuire made the shot last year. Before that, his son, also named Chuck, got a hole-in-one at the course in 2003.

Further back, Chuck McGuire’s father Charlie made the hole-in-one in 1976.

The Somerset County Parks Commission honored the McGuire family with a tee flag Monday to recognize their accomplishments.
