Amelia Hanger adopted her two cats, Michelle and Michael, from the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter. For the last few years, she's been running a fundraiser in conjunction with Dr. Martin Luther King Day.
This year, Hanger singlehandedly raised $2,000. Due to her efforts, the shelter was given another $1,900 during the week of Hanger's project.
The money was used to buy pet food and supplies for the shelter.
