A historic national landmark in Rye will be getting a makeover soon.
The 1838 Jay Mansion is in desperate need of upgrades and renovations.
The Jay Heritage Center will be getting $500,000 in state funds to restore the building, according to the center and Sen. Shelley Mayer.
The mansion was where John Jay, the first chief justice of the United States, returned to celebrate the negotiation of the 1783 Treaty of Paris.
