A family is in mourning after a Bronx woman was stabbed to death this morning in Kingsbridge.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Jasmine Canton, of 2600 Creston Ave. Police say the young woman was stabbed once in the chest at around 9:30 a.m outside her building.

She later died at Saint Barnabas Hospital. A man who spoke with detectives outside the building claims he was walking his dog when he saw a man with a knife run out of an entrance that leads to the basement.

Police say the suspect is still on the loose.
