An abandoned lot under the Cross Bronx Expressway will soon receive a major facelift.

City leaders announced Tuesday a $24.4 million investment that will transform Ittner Place between Webster and Park avenues into a new park.

The new space will include volleyball and basketball courts.

Officials say the area has long been neglected.

"We are going to continue to fight to make sure to make sure we convert this into the community residences deserve... walkable safer streets and so much more," says Councilmember Oswald Feliz.

City officials are also launching the Park-Webster Neighborhood Plan to reimagine what the neighborhood could look like.
