Thousands of spectators lined Halstead Avenue on Columbus Day to showcase their hometown pride at the 42nd annual "It's Great to Live in Harrison" parade.
Bands, schools and community groups all took part in a celebration that honored all who make the community what it is today.

After the parade, everyone headed to Ma Riis Park for kid-friendly activities, performances, rides and plenty of food.
"Every year it gets better and better," said Bruno Strati, Harrison citizen of the year.
