A representative of the Israeli government was in New Rochelle Tuesday night, updating people on the war.
Over 200 people registered for the talk at Beth El Synagogue in New Rochelle. The organizers say that is a big turnout for their "Israel 360" series.
The series aims to foster dialogue about Israel.
Consul for Public Diplomacy at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, Yuval Donio-Gideon, gave an overview of what has happened so far in a little over a week of war.
He told the crowd it will be a war unlike anything the country has seen.
"...hard bitter war, but make no mistake, we will prevail. We will win this war...light is stronger than darkness," he said.
The crowd asked what people locally can do in support.
The consul shared many ways including donating money or skills, publicly supporting Israel, doing business with the country and even visiting.
