The Islanders have signed veteran center Derick Brassard to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Brassard, 31, will be playing on his fifth different team since 2016. He makes his return to New York after playing with the Rangers from 2012-16.
The Quebec native has appeared in 786 games in his career, scoring 176 goals. Last season, he played in 70 games with Pittsburgh, Florida and Colorado, scoring 14 goals and nine assists.
