Local police are warning people about a nationwide scam that has come to the Hudson Valley.
Blooming Grove police say that scammers are reaching out to elderly residents over the phone claiming to be IRS investigators.
The phony agents tell the victims they owe back taxes and that they must pay up or their credit will be impacted.
Authorities are asking that anyone receiving this type of phone call to contact their local police department.
