Investigators have confirmed a bullet fragment that struck an Ardsley woman in June came from the now-closed Westchester County Police Revolver and Rifle League's outdoor range.
The gates of the shooting range have been locked since early summer when owner Con Edison shut down the private club after an Ardsley woman said she was wounded by a bullet fragment fired from there.
As a result of the incident, Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner has called for stricter regulations and government oversight of outdoor gun ranges.
"There were many bullets that police found outside the gun range, and if this had been regulated, then the regulatory agencies could work with the gun range operators," he says.
Con Edison says it has no plans to unlock the gates and reopen the range to customers.
