A health care employment business is being fined after placing a discriminatory job advertisement.
Last October, members of the Haitian community staged protests outside the Nanuet offices of Interim Healthcare over the ad. The ad, posted by Interim Healthcare in the Pennysaver, specifically asks for "no Haitians."
Under a settlement with the state Attorney General's Office, Interim has agreed to pay a $100,000 fine and eliminate discriminatory hiring practices.
An Interim Healthcare spokesperson apologized for the ad. The company also said it is committed to rebuilding the public's trust.
