State officials did not elaborate on the circumstances of the incident but said that the inmate was taken to the hospital by medevac helicopter, and is currently in stable condition.
News 12 received anonymous information that a stabbing occurred, prompting our inquiry, but officials have not confirmed that.
The DOCCS Office of Special Investigations and New York State Police are investigating.
