An inmate at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility has reportedly committed suicide.
A spokesman for the State Correctional Services Department says Evonne Williams hanged herself on Friday.
She had been in prison for more than three years, and was serving time for possession of stolen property.
Her death is under investigation.
