There is good news for adrenaline junkies now that indoor-skydiving has opened in Yonkers.
The first iFLY location in New York is now open at Ridge Hill in Yonkers. Company officials say indoor skydiving is the simulation of true freefall conditions in a vertical wind tunnel.
First time flyers can expect to shell out about $80 for the experience. "You can fly from a minute or two minutes and the typical skydive is 45 seconds so you can fly for a little bit longer and it's just the unique experience you can't have anywhere else," says iFLY Vice President Trevor Thompson.
Thomson says the air tunnel will make flyers feel like they are speeding at over 100 mph. "We can create the same wind stream and if you close your eyes its exactly the same thing as free fall but none of the scariness."
