Independent candidate Sharon Torres has emerged victorious in the race for Mayor of the Village of Mamaroneck, defeating incumbent Thomas Murphy, who ran on both the Democratic and Working Party lines.
Torres secured 52% of the total vote with nearly 2,000 votes, while Murphy received 48% of the vote with just under 1,800 votes.
Murphy graciously conceded to Torres and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the village.
