Improvement in statewide metrics leads to talk of Gov. Cuomo easing restrictions

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is looking to ease restrictions now that the number of new COVID-19 cases are on the decline.
Gov. Cuomo says statewide metrics are improving, with the transmission rate now below 1 for the first time since the latest surge. There's also a decrease in positivity and hospitalizations.
Business owners in Port Chester are thrilled to hear the news.
Rodrigo Aguillon, of Roddy's Pizza, has been serving up slices in Port Chester for the last decade. This year, his business took a 33% hit with everything that's going on.
"It's been like one thing after another basically, so we are measuring out around that much," says Aguillon. "But we are trying to keep it going. That's why if Gov. Cuomo decides to make it better, it will be a big help."
Even with the good news, Cuomo urges New Yorkers to continue being COVID smart to keep numbers down.
