After the warmest January on record, residents in Westchester were in a panic to stock up on supplies for the weekend snowstorm.
Grocery stores were packed with people picking up food, milk and other necessities. One Yonkers resident called the day?s events ?pre-blizzard mode.? The department of public works (DPW) was also preparing for the snow. Officials say the plan is to have the trucks pre-salt the roads and then plow after every half-inch of snowfall.
DPW officials say the fact that the storm is coming on a weekend will make clearing the roads much easier.
