Tackling illegal immigration in Putnam County was the topic of discussion at a town hall meeting Thursday night.
Illegal immigration has been making headlines recently because of a rash of drunken driving cases in the area, one of them deadly. Assemblyman Greg Ball organized the meeting to hear ideas from the public on immigration reform.
While immigration officials have taken away illegal immigrants who have been charged in drunken driving cases, Hispanics in the community say while reform is needed, kicking them out is not the answer.
