Hundreds of people participated Saturday in the 10th annual Ice Bucket Challenge and fundraiser at Empire City Casino in Yonkers.
The yearly event serves to raise awareness for ALS, a progressive nervous system disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and causes the loss of muscle control, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Organizers say the campaign has raised about $250 million nationwide and an additional $1 billion in research funding.
News 12’s Carol Wilkinson was in Yonkers with the sights and sounds.
