The new Hyatt Place Hotel being built at the Cross County Shopping Center is getting closer to rolling out the red carpet and opening its doors to guests.
Last February, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the former County Hospital and office tower.
The $20 million project will be eight stories and have 155 guest rooms.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano says the new business venture, right on the grounds of the shopping center, is just a hint of things to come.
"It shows that Yonkers is truly the destination that people want to come to live in, work in, and play in," he said.
The hotel is set to open next spring.
