The wild weather in 2020 just keeps on keepin' on.

When Hurricane Delta made landfall in Louisiana last week, it marked the 10th named storm to hit the United States this year - the most ever on record.

The previous mark was set 104 years ago in 1916. 

Louisiana also set its own personal mark by having four named storms hit the state this year; besides Delta, Cristobal, Laura and Marco battered the state.

Delta became the strongest Greek alphabet-named Atlantic hurricane on record when it reached Category 4 status last week. Despite weakening rapidly over land, it still brought flooding rains from the Deep South to the Northeast.

Late in the summer, forecasters revised early-season predictions for the 2020 hurricane season. The record for most named storms in a season is 28 (2005) which may be the next record to fall. So far this year we have had 25, with more than a month and a half left to go.
