People were out walking for a cure in Rye this weekend.
Rye Playland hosted the Lustgarten Foundation’s annual Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Patients, survivors, families and dogs all took part in the two-mile walk.
A cancer survivor who spoke with News 12 says she is lucky to be alive. "I am few of the lucky that made it. I think the mission here is a lot more survivors than what we have right now and finding a cure as well as early detection of pancreatic cancer would save a lot of lives," says survivor Barbara Nusbaum.
The walk has raised over $4 million in 10 years.
