Hundreds of people showed up to Glen Island Park's waterfront Saturday for this year Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics Glen Island Park's waterfront.
The annual event raises money to support athletes who compete in the Special Olympics in New York year round.
The money raised goes toward expenses including uniforms, equipment, medals and travel to competitions.
Students from a number of nearby prep schools including Iona, Fordham and Somers came out and hit the water to show support.
Saturday's Polar Plunge raised $175,000 for the Special Olympics.
