A viral pay-it-forward trend on Facebook is connecting local residents through their love of wine.

It's called "Hudson Valley Wine Fairies," and members sign up to receive and send a basket of wine to complete strangers within their community.

Friends Kristie King and Jerrica Johnson started the page after seeing a similar one for another community down south. "It kind of exploded so fast, and it's just been amazing. We want people, even if we don't know you. We can be a blessing to one another and uplift one another," says King.

The page started a week ago and has more than 5,000 followers.
