Voters across the Hudson Valley are reacting to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s victory over Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin
With the win, Hochul makes history as the first woman voted into the state’s highest office.
People who spoke with News 12 had mixed reactions.
"I'm very sad with the results, didn't expect it. It's really a tragedy for the state. Why? Crime, inflation, taxes, mismanagement. You name it,” says Andrew Januaz.
"I'm very happy. Because I want there to be better everything in the world, and I feel like we need that and there's much hate out there and dangerous things accordingly," says Debbi Jacobs.
Hochul's challenger, Army Reserve lieutenant and Republican Lee Zeldin of Long Island, conceded Wednesday afternoon.
