Four Red Lobster locations in the Hudson Valley are among dozens of the company’s restaurants that are now abruptly closing their doors, News 12 has learned.
The company’s restaurants in Scarsdale, Nanuet, Kingston, and Poughkeepsie are now permanently closed. A worker at the Rockland location says staff were turned away at the start of their shifts Monday morning, without notice.
The company is closing at least 48 of its restaurants in several states, according to a leading restaurant liquidator Tag E-X Brands, as Red Lobster mulls filing for bankruptcy. Their website indicates items inside the Kingston location are being auctioned off for the next two days.
The restaurant chain has gone through four CEO's since supplier Thai Union became a key shareholder in 2020.
News 12 reached out to Red Lobster’s corporate office for information but hasn’t heard back.
