A Sullivan West parent has been charged for allegedly threatening to shoot people at his child’s school earlier this month.
A source gave News 12 a copy of the law enforcement complaint that alleges Steven Kelly made several verbal threats of "killing people" during a mass shooting to a witness in remarks aimed at an unspecified district school, while allegedly claiming to be having a “psychotic break.”
Kelly also allegedly made several threatening comments on Facebook that were paraphrased in the complaint and given to News 12 in screenshots. One alleged remark says, “Sullivan West School District … they’ve already loaded the clip and popped one in the chamber for me.”
Another post says, “That moment when someone wakes the demon that has been sleeping inside you … because they assumed you weren’t capable of inflicting a whole new world of pain and damage they’ve never seen or felt. Finding that right one to let it loose on.”
The Sullivan West Central School District says police found the parent was not a threat to the district, but that he has been ordered to remain off school grounds.
