Westchester County Executive George Latimer says there are heightened security measures in the area after explosive devices were sent to the homes of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Chappaqua and billionaire businessman George Soros in Bedford.

Westchester Public Safety Commissioner Tom Gleason says while there is no specific threat to Westchester, law enforcement is doing a lot of work behind the scenes to keep residents safe.

The FBI has confirmed that some package bombs targeting President Trump's critics were sent through U.S. mail, so the county district attorney is urging people to be vigilant with handling their own mail.

Law enforcement officials in Rockland County say they continue to be in a state of high alert with respect to counterterrorism. Orange County officials say they are in close contact with federal, state and local authorities.
