The U.S.
Department of Labor reports jobless claims declined last week to 803,000, which is down 89,000 from the week before.
In the Hudson Valley, the November 2020 jobless rate came in at 5.4%, which is
down 1 % from October.
Still, the rate locally is roughly 2% from what it was last year.
Last month, 60,000 people were collecting unemployment assistance, according to
the state Labor Department.
The lowest jobless
rate in the region last month was recorded in Putnam County at just under
5%.
The highest figures were in
Westchester and Sullivan counties - both tied at
5.8%.
