Tuesday was the first real feel of winter as snow fell throughout the Hudson Valley.
The snow didn't cause major headaches, and officials made sure they were prepared.
Mount Vernon city leaders sent out five newly retrofitted trucks with new hydraulics and electrical systems as well as plows able to fit narrow streets.
While some residents were caught off guard by the snow and frigid weather, it didn't stop drivers in Yonkers, even though the hilly streets can be a challenge.
Residents are advised to keep winter gear handy as more snow is expected on Wednesday.
