Authorities say a sales manager at the Hudson Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Newburgh was killed Monday.

Town of Newburgh police say the 41-year-old man, identified by family as Justin Grater, was hit in front of the dealership on 17K by another man parking one of their Jeep Wranglers.

They say the unidentified driver was entering a parking space, accelerated and struck the victim, who was walking in front of the vehicle. Police say the dealership employee was trapped under the SUV and dragged across Route 17-K. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities say the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

News 12 reached out to the dealership for comment but hasn’t heard back.
