Hudson Valley authorities add extra patrols for Catholic Masses for Mother’s Day

Local police departments are stepping up patrols in response to national threats of disrupting Catholic Masses on Mother's Day.
Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt tells News 12 worshipers will be protected by seen and unseen security measures.
"Should any criminal acts take place, all involved must be fully charged of the law, including hate crime charges,” Schmitt said in a statement.
Harrison will also have increased police presence at St. Gregory the Great and St. Anthony's of Padua Roman Catholic Church.
The Orange County sheriff and undersheriff told News 12 they want to reassure county residents that deputies will be on patrol around the clock throughout the county to ensure religious services are not interrupted.
