The Clearwater Festival is officially underway at Croton Point Park.
The weekend-long event teaches families about the latest environmental programs in the area.
The event is made possible by the nonprofit Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. and features music, dancing, live demonstrations and a large market of vendors.
The festival started back in the 1960s when the Hudson River's ecosystem was considered dead.
"It's important to let people know that even though we've been working at this for a long time, the job isn't done yet - and with the recent rollbacks in the EPA, the environment is once again at risk," said coordinator Rick Nestler.
All proceeds go directly to support Clearwater's environmental research advocacy efforts to help protect the Hudson River and its tributaries, as well as communities in the river valley.
