On Saturday afternoon, lightning struck a home on Willard Place in Monroe.
The family that lives in the home expressed that they hope lightning does not strike twice.
James Finnegan, 16, was home alone at the time of the incident.
"It was raining really loud, there was this blue flash.  It came right next to my bedroom window and there was a big boom right after," he says.
A piece of siding was torn off near the house by the force of the lightning strike.
The homeowner told News 12 that although they do have electricity, they are without heat or water.
