A water main break is believed to have caused part of a Dobbs Ferry house to collapse.
Police say a water line that was feeding a sprinkler broke at around 10 p.m. Friday, flooding the front lawn at a house on Bramley Lane.
Police responded after receiving a call from the homeowner saying the front of the house was partially caving in.
According to the homeowner, the partially above-ground basement wall had given way and fallen into the basement itself.
Crews worked through the night on the break, and neighbors say that although water was shut off for a while, it is now running once again.
Those inside got out of the house safely. The homeowners are currently staying in a hotel.
