Homeless, illegal immigrant left for dead in Bedford

Police say the man found lying on the side of a desolate Bedford road was killed.
Police say they found 42-year-old Rene Javier Perez unconscious on the shoulder of Byram Lake Road after a driver saw the body and called 911.
Paramedics tried to treat Perez at the scene. They then transported him to Westchester Medical Center where he later died.
After performing an autopsy, the Westchester County Medical Examiner determined the death a homicide. Perez died of an internal injury to the abdomen.
The victim was last seen at a Laundromat in Mt. Kisco. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Bedford Police Department at 914-241-3111.
