Hochul: Updated COVID-19 vaccine to be available in NY in the coming days

The governor said she is requiring that all nursing homes in the state make the new vaccine available to residents.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that the updated COVID-19 vaccine will be available through New York state in the coming days.
“The vaccine has always been the best way to protect yourself and your community against COVID-19, and this updated vaccine addresses newer strains of the virus that are currently circulating,” Hochul said.

The governor said she is requiring that all nursing homes in the state make the new vaccine available to residents.
During a news conference Wednesday morning, Hochul also encouraged New Yorkers to ask their health care provider about other vaccines, including flu and RSV.
