Gov. Kathy Hochul has just announced $13.4 million in grants from the "Abortion Provider Support Fund" is being allocated to dozens of abortion providers across New York.
The announcement comes as clinics around the state are reporting higher numbers of women coming in for abortion procedures.
Hochul says this includes those who've traveled across state lines because clinics have either closed down or stopped offering abortions in their home state. "We will be that safe harbor. Count on New York to be there for all of you," said Hochul.
Hochul added that it's her moral obligation to keep prioritizing support for abortion providers so that a woman's access is not limited, no matter where she is from.
