High winds cause accidents, close Tappan Zee Bridge

The Thruway Authority closed the Tappan Zee Bridge in both directions Wednesday after two tractor-trailers flipped over in high winds. The bridge was closed on and off all morning due to the high winds.

The Thruway Authority closed the Tappan Zee Bridge in both directions Wednesday after two tractor-trailers flipped over in high winds.
The bridge was closed on and off all morning due to the high winds. Cars were stuck for hours at a standstill when two separate accidents involving tractor-trailers occurred. In on incident the truck flipped over onto a car. No one was injured in either accident.
When the bridge finally reopened in both directions, it was closed to commercial traffic until the winds died down.
