Some students in Hartsdale braved the cold Friday night to sleep on cardboard boxes to learn about the impact of homelessness.
The effort by Maria Regina High School students was part of the 22nd annual "Cardboard Box City Campaign."
The night's rain moved the event inside but the kids eventually moved the boxes outside when the precipitation ended.
"My daughter here is a student at Maria Regina... and she just wanted to come out and show solidarity with the homeless community and what they go through on a day to day basis," said parent Nichole Clark.
The students raised money for homeless people in Westchester County and New York City.
