A high school senior who asked Ellen DeGeneres to the prom has now set his sights on a member of the News 12 team.
North Rockland High School senior Alirios Magana, who has cerebral palsy, says that DeGeneres is his crush and that he watches her show daily. His "promposal" to Ellen quickly went viral. DeGeneres responded to the teen by saying she couldn't attend the prom, but she did send him some memorabilia from the show.
Despite being turned down by DeGeneres, News 12's Blaise Gomez said that she was surprised to see Alirios in such good spirits. When Gomez went to speak with Alirios, he surprised her by asking her to go to the prom with him.
Gomez enthusiastically accepted the proposal.
The North Rockland High School prom is June 25.
