A high honor was given Monday to a law enforcement officer in Orange County.

Deputy Joseph Carey from the County Sheriff's Office received the State Division of Criminal Justice Services' 2024 Lifesaving Award.

Carey was on his way to work when he came across a serious motorcycle crash. He jumped into action, providing first aid that helped save a man's life.

The department congratulated Deputy Carey for his heroic efforts and his quick thinking.
