The Hendrick Hudson School District budget was defeated for the second time by a mere 18 votes.
Voters in seven districts rejected spending plans last month. Most of the budgets were modified and put back on the ballot Tuesday. Six of the seven passed, despite an increase in taxes for residents.
However, voters did not pass the $60.3 million budget for Hendrick Hudson. That budget was not modified from last month and although the vote was close, residents ultimately defeated it. Now the district will have to run on a bare-bones contingency spending plan that will be $265,000 less for the coming school year.
