Heavy rain Thursday evening caused flash flooding in Yorktown.

Water was present along Commerce Street and in the parking lot of the nearby Underhill Plaza.

A Honda sedan found itself stuck in the water on Commerce Street, but both people inside were able to safely escape.

Police had shut down Commerce Street as a result of the flooding.
